We had many other projects to work on over the past few days, so it was a slow week for the GTM; however, we did manage to install the electric water pump and after we mounted the accessories on the engine, we were able to re-install it back in the frame. We also started rerouting the engine wiring harness and shortening and tidying up the factory harness that was supplied with the engine.

This week we made the new aluminum pins for the upper control arm and the Delrin bushes for the upper and lower front control arms. These were pressed into the factory arms.
The new electric water pump arrived and will be installed next week. The thermostat water pump neck will be modfied with a welded 90 to provide more clearance for the coolant pipes and hose.

We started work on the GTM this week. The engine had arrived late last year and we finally got the Mendeola Transaxle. After assembling the two, we decided that the frame would require some modification to allow the engine transaxle assembly to install as a unit. The X bracing was removed and will be put back in as a removable unit.
The transmission is longer than the G-50 so the removable rear section will also have to be remade along with the tranny mounts.
The FF5 Steering rack bushes were replaced with Delrin as will the Upper and lower control arm bushes.
We also installed the A/C unit on the car this week, with lines to be run later.
The owner of the car has a lot of modifications in store for the car so everything will be trial fitted first before final assembly.
